at the heart of the kitchen is a wood-charcoal grill, where our kitchen team fast-cook seafood just caught from rye bay, local meats and vegetables.
For breakfast, have poached eggs and smashed avo on sourdough, buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, or ‘The Full George’? Work your way through our delicious menu, served from 8am to 10am every day of the week.

Great Dixter’s Winter Interest Tour is a month from now and we can’t wait to welcome in the first snowdrops of the year.💫
@greatdixterofficial is a vibrant, daring, and immersive garden with a 15th century house restored by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
Leading the way in ornamental gardening, gardening for biodiversity, and horticultural education, it was created by the great gardener and garden writer Christopher Lloyd, OBE, VMH.
Whilst it remains mostly closed until April 1st, thankfully there are some opportunities to visit its extensive gardens during the winter months, including two open weekends in February.
We are lucky to be so near the diversity such seasonal visits offer - it’s about 20mins drive from The George.
Conducting a small group, the Winter Tour will focus on their famous wide variety of snowdrops as well as other winter flowering shrubs such as Daphnes and Hamamellis.🌱
Ticket price includes admission to the garden afterwards or you can simply buy entrance to the gardens on these open weekends.
