at the heart of the kitchen is a wood-charcoal grill, where our kitchen team fast-cook seafood just caught from rye bay, local meats and vegetables.
For breakfast, have poached eggs and smashed avo on sourdough, buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, or ‘The Full George’? Work your way through our delicious menu, served from 8am to 10am every day of the week.

Boxing day walk on Winchelsea Beach?
After all the excesses of Christmas Day it’s a great moment to stretch the legs, take in some sea air and feel close to the elements.
Especially when you know you have lots of leftovers waiting for you at home or perhaps a celebratory pint at The Dragon Bar!!
A brilliant bright skied Boxing Day is ideal but we always enjoy a beach walk, whatever the weather.
To get to Winchelsea Beach from The George you can either drive to the free car park in the Nature Reserve or take a bus and then walk from there.
