Introducing “Pillow Poetry” ☁️

.. a new collaboration with Rye Harbour Writers

..a group of 14 local poets and writers who meet regularly to share their work and who are often inspired by the local environment, in particular the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

For this special project they have created 24 individual poems musing on a stay at The George in Rye.

These poems are an invitation to slow down and to rest in the knowledge of this place and its community.

We hope you enjoy them.

If they move you, please do share how they make you feel - we’re sure the Rye Harbour Writers would love to see it.

Banish the blues, with January Jazz at The George 🎸 🎹

In - the Dragon Bar
On - Sunday 11 January
At - 3-5pm

Frances Knight and Stephen Bridgland return on keyboard and guitar, respectively.

Frances’s projects are eclectic and diverse, ranging from jazz and blues through to improvised music and Argentinian Tango.

She is a prolific songwriter who has been awarded the European Musicians Federation songwriting prize.

On her own record label, Mandeville Records, she’s had tracks played on the BBC, Jazz FM and abroad.

Stephen’s jazz guitar playing is rich, resonant and life-affirming - the perfect tonic for this bleak time of year.

We can’t wait to welcome them both and all of you.

Remember to arrive early to bag a spot - this is a FREE event and there is no reserved seating.
