“On my way home from a magical 24 hours in Rye, East Sussex hosted by my fabulously talented friend Arabella and her brand @verden.world
We were celebrating the arrival of Verden to @thegeorgeinrye - a colourful and beautifully curated boutique hotel in the heart of Rye town. I’m not sure whether it was the spectacular weather that made it all so special - clear blue skies, glorious sunshine, proper warmth on our skin - or perhaps it was the fine wine and delicious food that gave me that heady feeling of pure happiness.
Maybe it was the joyous company of people I’ve known and loved for years or the introduction of new friends for life who made me laugh until I cried… (that’s YOU Katie!)
It was certainly the abundance of flowers in vintage vessels reminding me of home and perhaps in part due to the luxurious bubble bath I squeezed in before bedtime - how can one resist diving feet first into a brass empire style bateau bath filled with Verden scented bubbles - I couldn’t!
Whatever it was, I am currently staring out of a train window on my way home feeling content, refreshed and with a full heart - and smelling rather lovely indeed I must say!
Two things I’ll leave you with - please visit Rye and the surrounding countryside - it’s stunning - filled with oast houses and Sussex barns and glorious views of the sea next to rolling hills. Stay at the @thegeorgeinrye if you can or at least eat there, and try to see as many rooms as you can - I promise you it’s a feast for the eyes and Katie’s background as a film and tv set designer clearly shines through.
Secondly, please check out the candles and bodycare range at @verden.world - I’m already obsessed by @votarylondon - Ary’s other ‘baby’ and this is equally as delightful.”
