Do you like our homage to the sun, inspired by an Alexander Girard design, who was a contemporary of Eames..don’t you know..?
Girard, affectionately known as Sandro, was one of the most influential textile artists and interior designers of the twentieth century. He created worlds of colourful opulence and was heavily inspired by his extensive collection of folk art objects, which he accumulated on his travels through Mexico, India, Egypt and other countries. In the end, his collection comprised more than 100,000 artefacts!
Charles and Ray Eames were an American married couple of industrial designers who made significant historical contributions to the development of modern architecture and furniture - you’d certainly recognise some of their most famous pieces.

Al has played with big name swing bands such as Ray Gelato’s Giants and King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys.
Radio 2 Michael Parkinson described his band as “The Group I’m currently raving about - it’s happy music that makes you want to dance!”
We can’t wait for you to hear them together.. in the courtyard (weather willing) ..and to enjoy a very laid back end to a summer’s weekend.
