Greetings Georgians,

The subject of our newsletter is a little different this month.   We’d like to give one of our loyal guests the opportunity to run the 2016 London Marathon with £1,000 guaranteed sponsorship from The George in Rye!

The NSPCC is Charity of the Year for the London Marathon 2016 and the sponsorship raised by this place will go towards the NSPCC’s Childline service.  We will provide £1,000 worth of the required £2,200 and you will need to find a minimum of £1,200*.

ChildLine is a free 24-hour counselling service for children and young people in the UK.  With 12 counselling centres around the UK, ChildLine deals with any issue which causes distress or concern.  Common issues dealt with include child abuse, bullying, mental illness, parental separation or divorce, pregnancy and substance misuse.

The online ballot for the 2016 Marathon has now closed, but if you’ve missed it, you may still have the opportunity to run.  Please email [email protected] giving your name, your phone number, when you last visited us, a reason why we should choose you and how you anticipate raising your sponsorship. Entries need to be in by 12th July and the winner will be announced on 19th July.

*there is a £100 administration fee paid to be paid to the NSPCC by the winning entrant.  The winner will need to complete the NSPCC’s application form and the NSPCC will need to be satisfied that the winning entrance will raise the required funds.
