The George in Rye Logo Book

Rye Bay Scallop Week, now in its 17th year, is a week-long festival dedicated to this plump local delicacy.  This year, the festival takes place between Saturday 23rd February and Sunday 3rd March.  There will be scallop races, cookery demonstrations, competitions and live music.   See below for details of what’s happening at The George in Rye.

As part of the festival, we are offering a four or six-course Tasting Menu (together with wine pairings). Click here to see the menu or to book a table.

On Sunday 3rd March, we will be hosting local celebrity, blues singer Roger Hubbard, in our Tap Bar from 4:00-6:00pm.  Roger is one of the major exponents of early blues and slide guitar.  Entry is free.

Be in with a chance of winning an overnight stay for two in one of our luxurious junior suites with breakfast and dinner thrown in!  Click here to enter our Scallop Competition.

For further information on events, participating restaurants, live music and cookery demonstrations, please see the official Rye Bay Scallop week website.
