We are very lucky to have the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve on our doorstep. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, the reserve is a mosaic of habitats beside the sea with shingle, saltmarsh, sand dunes, rivers, pits, grazing marsh, reedbeds and farmland. There is a paved road from the car park down to the sea, so you can take (or hire) bicycles!
They have a full program of events for all the family, and this Saturday children aged 5-11 get the chance to find out more about the natural world and the special wildlife at the Reserve in their ‘Wildlife Watch’. Activities include exploring the reserve, playing games, craft activities and learning how to help wildlife thrive. For more information click here
