This month we’re very excited to be launching a one-off opportunity for creative types among you. The George in Rye is teaming up with artist Fiona Graham-Mackay to run an art break based out of the hotel, a bit like a mini-Slade by the sea!  Over three days you’ll come under Fiona’s expert and accessible tuition in a series of four 3-hour sessions. If the weather is lovely, there will be trips down by the harbour and around Rye, to capture the scenery. This is a real chance to enjoy a leisurely couple of days getting in touch with your creative side, whether you’re a practiced artist or complete beginner. And when you’re not painting, take some time to relax in the hotel or head down to the beach.

The George in Rye art package takes place over the nights of the 28th and 29th April and all is included except lunch. A junior suite is £450 dinner bed and breakfast, or a deluxe room is £350 for the whole stay, with £100 for the art classes. See here to find out more, and paintbrushes at the ready.

For more gluttonous treats, Easter is round the corner, and this year we have a few rooms left for a two or three night break for some serious chill-out and chocolate time – the highlight is a traditional Easter Sunday Lunch in our Restaurant and Bar, full of the first of this spring’s ingredients. See all the details for the Easter package here.

Finally, if you’re a George addict (nothing to be ashamed of….) you can get more of a fix from our new blog, where we’ll be covering wider news and events around Rye and East Sussex, as well as a more irreverent take on what’s happening at The George in Rye. We’re very open to suggestions so do get in touch if there’s anything you’d like to suggest. Head to our blog for more.

Best Wishes
The George in Rye
