Greetings Georgians!

With the summer holidays just couple of weeks away, we thought we’d dedicate this newsletter to some summer fun, all available within a stone’s throw of Rye.

With this in mind, we’re delighted to announce our new-look website, with a whole section on things to do in the area whilst you’re staying with us. Take a look here, we hope you like it!

Tibbs ‘pick-your-own’ farm is just a five minute drive away in Udimore, and they’re now selling plump strawberries and delicious gooseberries. Nestled in the stunning Brede Valley, it’s a wonderful way for children to get some fresh air and they will naturally be keen to pick the biggest, ripest fruit they can find!

We’d also like to tell you about a spectacular dance workshop for kids taking place in August. Leading dance choreographer Lynne Page (Lady Gaga, Kanye West) will be running a course of hip hop, street and contemporary dance for kids between the ages of 8 and 16. Lynne invites the busy dancers from her commercial shows to come and deliver masterclasses. For booking and further information see the Nifty Feet website.

The brilliant Rye Jazz festival returns over the August bank holiday (24th-28th August) with headline concerts, an outdoor music stage and fringe events throughout the town.  For tickets and further details please see ryejazz.com.

Finally, if you’re looking for some inspiration for stylish outdoor eating spaces, look no further than our shop. We have gorgeous new black lanterns from £12, pink serveware from £12.75 (all oven, microwave and dishwasher safe) and cushions made from Moroccan berger rugs in a range of amazing colours.

We look forward to seeing you over the summer!

With best wishes
The George in Rye
