This is your Christmas letter from Rye which we hope won’t fail in its mission to get you feeling festive!

First up, given we now have our Shop Next Door and it’s our first Christmas, may we tempt you to pop down and get your pressies here? Some of our highlights, pictured in this newsletter, are the animal head drawer handles (especially the bull dogs, from £15) which will make even the shakiest of Ikea wardrobes look chi chi.  Our hanging picture frames (from £15) have also been very popular.  Try putting a smaller print inside so your wall colour shows through the glass at the edges.  The neon candles (£1.70 each) are selling like hotcakes; the neon pink and orange look super.  We’re next door to the hotel so you can’t miss us!

Our fail-safe gift option, though, is a voucher so your loved ones can have a ridiculously relaxing stay at The George.  Choose either any value from £25 to £1000, or buy a whole package such as a one night gastronomic break, which is from £115 per person.  They’re easy to sort, and the vouchers are very pretty to open.  See how to order on the website.

For New Year’s Eve fun, an alert is being issued to say that there are a handful of tickets remaining for our dinner and dance, beginning with a cocktail reception and ending with a smash of a set from our favourite party group, Rock n’ Roll Society.  Tickets are £85 including everything except your wine at dinner, and you can arrange these via the website.  Be quick as the event is very nearly full.  Please note that you are encouraged to dress up in your favourite fifties tribe.  Rockabilly and Teddy Boys or course, but why not a Beat poet or maybe a Greaser?

Finally, we have just launched some new packages for January. One of them would be perfect if you read this with slightly hunched shoulders. Or have a sore back, or are rubbish at stretching when you exercise.  This is our spa break and it includes Swedish massage at The Rye Retreat. Choose whether you want something relaxing, or (our choice) to be absolutely sorted with hardcore techniques.  Then accompany the massage either with a facial or a body exfoliation treatment.  This add-on is just £67 a person as part of a 2 night break.  See what you get here.
